Introduction to 'Pages from books as yet unwritten'

At TheUnbrokenCircle web site, we've been keen to support new folk and experimental acoustic music and have focussed on this in 2005 with our new blog, section on British wyrd folk, features pages etc.

I would now like to increase this coverage further with a page that collects together a single track per artist of their choosing that they feel represents them. I will then put this up with supporting information for people to hear in real time at the site (but not download). This page will then contain links to the site of the artists choosing for either more information or to buy your works. There's nothing in it for our site other than just helping people hear great music. The track can be off an album, old, exclusive, a different mix, whatever you choose.

We encourage all artists working in the folk / psychedelic folk / pagan folk / instrumental landscape / drone music / experimental acoustic etc area to get involved (without trying to define it too narrowly, if we're useful to you feel free to use us). The kind of music we're including is....

1. folk derived music, wyrd folk, free folk, psychedelia and so on.

2. progressive traditional folk music with folklore aspects

3. experimental acoustic music

4. electronic music about or mixing in environment, nature sounds, folk customs etc.

5. earth drones......

6. tribal, ritualistic freak out soundscapes

We hope it will increase your profile and of course, sales. We are read by a number of labels so it also might help emerging artists find an outlet and audience.

To get involved all you need to go is email me at lordofmisrule@theunbrokencircle.co.uk.

All we ask is

1.  either via internet (we're on broadband so it's okay to email music files)

2. or on a normal CD or CDr

you send a sample track either on CD or via internet as a single MP3 / WMA file of your choosing.  Please also provide us with the details of artist, title, album (where appropriate) and web link or email and year.

You don't have to be published or to have a formal label though record labels small and large are welcome to get involved (as are established artists). I promise there will be no commercial exploitation of the track and all rights will be reserved to the copyright holder.

Let's make this a success and promote a great area of music that is worthy of more attention. Please email me and get in touch to express interest or send a file straight away.  Feel free to forward this message on to anyone who might be interested and as always to get in touch.

Sincere thanks to every artist  and label who is working with us on this.
